This page links to some "Time lapse photography" I've done, taken using screenshots of the game Oblivion. Oblivion is a beautiful game, and I've spent plenty of time just sitting on a hillside, looking at the view, totally ignoring the apocalyptic threat to the world.
Imperial City from Belda

- If you want a direct download of the whole archive: tar.gz 3.5M
- This is my first set of pictures, taken in Oblivion of the Imperial City from a sunny little ruin called Belda. The resolution used is 1024x786 (4:3).
- I actually use these pictures as my desktop wallpaper. I've set up a small perl script to be run every half-hour to update my background picture appropriately. If you use gnome, or you're curious, you can download it here: set_gnome_bg_24hr.pl
I want to make more of these. I especially want to make a widescreen version, since that's what I've got now, and higher resolution. Also, I should make a few using Morrowind too.
Bliss

- These ones were taken in the Shivering Isles at 1920x1200 (16:10), with an interval of 15 minutes.
- So they're bigger! It's about 37M in total.
- Because of the size, I can't really add an archived version as well as the individual files. I figure the individual files are better for most people, since you could always just throw your download manager at the links, or if you're concerned about the size, you could just download every half-hour increment and use those. Or just pick your favourite time of day and use that.
- I improved my technique this time - I actually wrote an AutoHotKey? script to do the laborious task of typing "Set GameHour? to 0.50... PrintScreen?... Set GameHour? to ...". It's available along with the background changing script and the post-processing script here: support_scripts.tar.gz
Crucible

- Link to bundle-o-files: Crucible
- It wouldn't be fair if I made a set of Bliss pictures without including it's twin, Crucible. Crucible is less vibrant, but there's still wallpaper potential here, I think =)
- These ones were similarly taken in the Shivering Isles at 1920x1200 (16:10), with an interval of 15 minutes.
- They got compressed slightly better, about 23M in total.
